Mobility is the focus of the April Cisco U. Dr. Pete Welcher will present a session on Voice over Wireless LAN (VoWLAN). He will look at why VoWLAN is becoming popular in some environments, cover some of the ways in which VoWLAN differs from a data-only WLAN design including some of the additional factors to consider. He will also look at Voice, WLAN, VoWLAN, and roaming VoWLAN traffic flows since understanding these flows allows network professionals to deploy appropriate QoS and also to troubleshoot a VoWLAN network. The talk will include lessons learned in deploying VoWLAN.
Nick Hoffman from Cisco will present will discuss 802.11n technology, features and benefits. He will also look at security aspects of Wireless as part of the network infrastructure.

The December Cisco U had a focus on security. Ron Trunk, a Senior Consultant from Chesapeake NetCraftsmen, delivered a presentation on 'How to Survive a Network Attack'. His presentation discussed how you can know if your network is under attack, or if your system has been compromised. He looked at some ways to effectively monitor your network and detect both internal and external attacks.
Tom Lyons from IronPort presented a talk on managing and protecting mission-critical networks
from Internet threats with Ironport solutions.
